Each of Steaker’s users must have gone through the process known as Know Your Customer (KYC) as a means of identity verification, for only those who pass the identification will then be able to access the full service of Steaker.
Then the key question arises: under what circumstances will the KYC process fail?
1. Common cases where the identity docs are incorrectly filled in:
➊ Mistake “date of issue” as “date of birth”.
➋ Incorrect “place of issue” (e.g. mistake New Taipei City as Taipei County).
➌ Mix initial issuance, re-issuance, and replacement up.
2. Your selfie gets denied:
Let us first take a look at a model selfie below, where the trio of “yourself”, “ID”, and “the handwritten note” is obligatory for your selfie to qualify.
Common cases where your selfie gets denied:
➊ Failed to hold your ID & the required handwritten note simultaneously.
➋ The ID of your selfie is too blurry or the image quality is too low, making it unreadable or illegible.
➌ Hands/Fingers blocking ID information (The info must be visible enough so that details such as date of issue or card number can be read without difficulty).
➍ Your handwritten note does not include your autograph (Do not use any photo editors or iPads).
➎ Your entire face must be clearly visible. Do not wear a mask or have your selfie cut to block your face.
➏ The date on the handwritten note is not the date when you upload your selfie.
3. Other cases that lead to verification failure
➊ Invaid ID (ID card or passport)
➋ The applicant fails to reach the age requirement (20 years old)
If your selfie is unclear, it’s recommended that you ask others to help you take a picture. That way, your photo is more likely to look clearer. Even if your KYC does not go through, don’t worry, for you’ll receive an email notification. Just follow the instructions thereof, retake a photo and then have it uploaded.
We hope you find this article on some important considerations of KYC helpful. Once the KYC process goes through, you’ll be enjoying the full benefits of Steaker’s services. Should you have any further queries, do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support during office hours (10:00-18:00).
